I edit content that drives social progress, with a focus on social sciences and climate change.

I work with academics, individuals, and nonprofits who strive for social progress or whose scholarship contributes to it. In each of these areas, I will ready your work for publication in print or online.

My Philosophy: Readers over Rules

If your goal is for people to read and understand your work, I don’t believe rules of style and grammar should be your guide. You should look to readers and their expectations. Readers are your audience, and their needs must be met to keep them engaged in your material.

That being said, readers usually care about rules, whether they realize it or not. The rules they care about may be very different, but they matter. Most of us have been conditioned to expect certain things from what we’re reading, and when the text breaks the rules we notice. Sometimes you’ll want your readers to notice, but most of the time you want them to keep reading.

I’ll help you find spots in your work that might trip your readers up. You’ll decide whether to change them.
